[Professional Roles & Responsibilities]
- Employment Type: Full time roles minimum 30-35 hours per week 4 days and part time roles minimum 15-20 hours per week)
- Pay Rate: $28 - $35 per hour, based on experience, skills, responsibility, how quickly you can start, how immediately you can contribute to the team,
- Baking & Decorating: Master Italian buttercream icing, big/tall and tiered cakes, and custom designs with attention to detail,
- Pastry Skills: Create cupcakes, macarons, cookies, choux and more,
- Operational Efficiency: Plan, execute, and complete tasks consistently and quickly,
- Minimise Wastage: Efficiently use ingredients, manage inventory, and reduce waste in all stages of production,
- Hygiene in the Kitchen: Maintain a spotless workspace (your own and shared), adhere to council compliance, and uphold the highest food safety standards,
- Packaging & Presentation: Ensure products are carefully packed and beautifully presented,
- Location & Transportation: Grey Lynn, Auckland 1021 and must have your own transportation.
[Ideal Experience and Candidates]
- Senior Pastry Chefs: At least 3+ years of experience in a local cafe, restaurant, or cakery,
- Junior Pastry Chefs: At least 1+ years of experience in a similar setting,
- Educational Advantage: Culinary course completion (NZ or overseas) is a plus,
- Creative Edge: Stay on trend with product designs, colours, understand what customers want, and adapt to changes,
- Visa Type: NZ citizenship/permanent residency, or have a valid work visa is a must.
